White girls called the police on a black girl “as a joke”, police stormed the girls room and almost took her life. So far no punishment for the students.
A black girl almost lost her life after police busted into her dormroom ready to take out “a threat.” The incident happened at Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, Texas.
The family’s attorney stated that the “prank” was actually a racist crime and the family is seeking justice.
Christin Evans, 17, the victim, was traumatized by the incident.
“I feel shaken. I don’t even know how to think. I can’t sleep at night because of this. It has made me really paranoid,”
Randall Kallinen, the attorney, stated that Evans was woken up at 3am:
Kallinen stated that Evans’ three white roommates initiated everything, and planned the “swat” with as many as 7 other girls by telling their resident assistant that Evans was trying to attack them.
The Resident Assistant then called the police that came in and almost took Evans’ life.
Evans stated at a press conference wild fighting tears:
“I was looking forward to making friends and having a good time on the cheer team, but since this has happened, it’s made it really, really hard,”
The university was reported to have not been swift until it hit the media. LaShonda and Chris Evans tried to contact the university and show them text messages from the University Police Chief that stated that Form surveillance cameras proved their daughter’s innocence.
The university now released a statement through the police chief saying:
“The university is investigating a racially diverse group of students in an incident involving a false report to the university police department. The students responsible will be held accountable for their actions at every possible level,”
