Judge rules that the woman who bailed R Kelly out of jail when he was arrested can’t get her $100,000 back, she now regrets it. It was her money from her own pocket.
Earlier this year R Kelly was arrested on 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse and accused of abusing four different victims, three of whom were under age 17 at the time.
A woman named Valencia Love bailed him out of jail after feeling remorse from him and being a long time fan.
On Monday, February 26th, court records showed that 47-year-old Valencia Love posted the bond for Kelly, identifying herself on the bond-slip as “a friend” of the singer’s.
Valencia Love owns a number of restaurants and owns a Christian Daycare called the Lord and Child Christian Day Care.
On the form, she stated she “Only wanted to help a friend”, and used $100,00 of her own money to bail the singer out of jail.
Now, Love filed a motion because she wants that money back. Her lawyer appeared in court and told the Judge she regrets bailing Kelly out of jail, stating that his client had no knowledge of federal investigations in New York or Illinois when she posted bond for him. He told the judge that R Kelly is a man of “vast resources” and can take care of himself.
Judge Lawrence Flood denied her motion, she won’t be getting that money back.
Love was also reported to be losing business, as people started removing their children from her Christian Day Care.
