The two men that have been arrested in the Jussie Smollet case have been released.
Two Nigerian brothers who appeared in the show “Empire” were arrested at the O’Hare Airport Wednesday night and brought in for questioning.
They were treated as suspects in the case.
Police have now released an official statement stating they have been released, and they were not charged.
Here’s the police’s official statement.
After some rumors were spread that it may be them, Police raided the home of two Nigerian men on Wednesday night. Police took shoes electronics and more.
The police are now continuing their investigation with new evidence.
Guglielmi continued in his Friday night statement saying,
“Interrogations will resume today with the two individuals and their attorney. While we haven’t found any video documenting the alleged attack, there is also no evidence to say that this is a hoax.
Guglielmi went on to say that Jussie Smollet is still a victim in this case and is being cooperative with their investigation:
The alleged victim is being cooperative at this time and continues to be treated as a victim, not a suspect
