Last month it was reported that group of men beat a transgender woman. That Transgender Woman, Muhlaysia Booker, has now been shot to death.
A video went viral about a month ago, where Muhlaysia Booker was attacked by 3 men who brutally beat her. One of the men has since been arrested:
It’s now reported that Muhlaysia Booker has been dead, after police responded to a report of a shooting in the 7200 block of Valley Glen Drive around 6:40 a.m. Saturday.
Dallas Police Major Vincent Weddington said:
“Upon arrival, officers found the complainant lying face down in the street — deceased from homicidal violence,”
One of the 3 men who brutally attacked her last month, Edward Thomas was charged for that brutal attack, but is reportedly not linked to her shooting death.
Vincent Weddington said:
“I am extremely angry about what appears to be mob violence against this woman,”
Police are still trying to identify the other 2 men who were seen beating her in the viral video that was posted in April.
Muhlaysia Booker was hospitalized after sustaining a concussion and a fractured wrist in the April beating, where 1 man bet another to beat her for $200. This month while still recovering, was shot to death in the street and left lying face down.
One of the last things Booker said to the public after the viral video attack was:
“This time, I can stand before you. Whereas in other scenarios, we are at a memorial.”
She said those words just last month. She was 23 years old.
