Stephen Dalton Baril, son of Ex Virginia Governor Steve Baril, was given no prison time after taking a girl home to rape her.
The woman told the police that Stephen took her to his apartment after he was supposed to walk her home from a bar in January 2017.
The Daily Progress reported that Stephen Dalton Baril’s charges were reduced from felony rape and felony sodomy to misdemeanor sexual battery and felony unlawful wounding as part of his Alford plea on Friday, which acknowledges sufficient evidence for conviction without admitting guilt.
The Judge, Humes J. Franklin, sentence Stephen Dalton Baril to 5 years supervised probation.
The woman had this to say,
“You raped me whether you want to hear it or not. You robbed me of feeling safe in a city I called my home.”
