Veasy said he found the email of Kaepernick’s agent on the internet and sent him a message in hopes of joining the NFL Workout.
Veasy told reporters on Wednesday while sitting at his new locker inside the Redskins’ locker room:
“I was going to be running routes back home at Gadsden anyway, So I (figured I) might as well be doing it in front of a few scouts.”
He said that his innitial goal was just to practice, and maybe show the NFL what he has to offer after getting released from the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad weeks earlier.
He told the Washington Post that he mostly wanted to practice and be apart of history and it was either way going to be beneficial for him:
“It helped. That’s one of the reasons I wanted to be a part of it. Just being a part of the history of it, and I knew it was going to help me.”
The Redskins signed Veasy without him having to undergo any other workout.
