Pope Francis says homosexuality is now a “Serious matter” in the clergy.

In an interview about religious vocations, Pope Francis described homosexuality as “Fashionable”, and urged the clergymen to remember their vows for celibacy, because he’s been noticing things, and he’s worried about homosexual acts in the church.

The Italian news paper “Corriere della Sera” ran excerpts of the interview in their newspaper on saturday.

Pope Francis said in the interview,

“The question of homosexuality is a very serious one,”

He said the church had to start being very choosy in selecting members for the clergy. Pope francis also said those┬áresponsible for training priests must make sure candidates are “humanly and emotionally mature”:

“For this reason, the Church urges that persons with this rooted tendency not be accepted into ministry or consecrated life.”

The pope mentioned that this also goes for women who were to become nuns.
