The mother of one of the boys who jumped a girl with about 15 boys says she recognized him in the video.
Donna Howell says she was scrolling through social media when she saw the video.
As she watched the video her soul left her body when she recognized her son.
She told the New York Post:
“I watched the video twice, it kept popping up on my feed. I realized, that’s my kid. I just went numb.”
She was getting her eyelashes done at the time.
“[The eyelash technician] said, ‘You look like you just saw a ghost.’ I was beyond shocked.”
Howell confronted her 14-year-old son and forced him to turn himself in. He was charged with robbery and gang assault.
Police believe that the assault was in retaliation for the victim of the assault winning a fight against another girl.
“When I saw the video, I wanted to kill him with my bare hands. Why would you stomp on somebody you don’t know? You don’t jump on a woman. If I was that girl’s father, I would want to kill all of them. This is unacceptable on all levels. You don’t ever put your feet on someone, and you definitely do not treat a female like that.”
Howell says she feels like she wants to throw up at all moments since the incident and hasn’t been able to eat.
4 other boys turned themselves in and are waiting arraignment at Kings County Criminal Court.

The group also robbed her of her Jordan sneakers, debit card and phone.
