Megan Thee Stallion responded to what Jermaine Dupri had to say about Female rappers: “Who is he”
Jermaine Dupri recently criticized female rappers in an interview with People TV.
He stated that female rappers rap about the same thing, implying they speak on nothing of substance.
Here’s what he said:
They all rapping about the same thing. I don’t think they’re showing us who’s the best rapper. For me, it’s like strippers rapping. As far as rap goes, I’m not getting who’s the best rapper. I’m getting, like, OK, you got a story about dancing in the club, you got a story about you dancing in the club, who’s going to be the rapper?”
Cardi B took to IG and criticized him by stating that there are actual great female rappers out there, and he generalized them all.
She mentioned names like Tierra Whack, Rapsody, Oranicuhh and Kamaiyah as examples.
Dupri then took to IG to try to clarify his statement saying:
What people don’t understand is I actually believe that these women that do this type of music should start calling it ‘strap,’” he said, coining a portmanteau of “stripper” and “rap.” “I think just like we have trap [music], they should call it strap. It’s the stories of their life.”
In an interview with 99Jamz, Megan The Stallion was asked about what Dupri had to say about female rappers, to which she responded “Who is he”,
