Updated: Maurice Willoughby, the man who’s said to have committed suicide, his girlfriend, Faith Palmer went online to state that his family among others are spinning the story for sympathy.
Palmer went on Live to explain that he was abusive, and she tried to get both of them help. She stated he became more abusive and she left. Palmer says he was addicted to drugs and the abusive became so much that she left. Here’s a video from her Live:
She made posts on her story that shows she still had love for him, and that people weren’t listening until the end. She also says people used the bullying video that was taken in February, to build say it was strictly because of the bullying when the bullying wasn’t the main issue. She says he was battling demons that stemmed from other things including the abuse of drugs., and a lot of the times took it out on her and she had to leave.
A black man committed suicide after being bullied and threatened in his neighborhood and online for dating a Trans woman.
Maurice Willoughby from Philadelphia committed suicide after incessant bullying.
Maurice was dating a transwoman which is still extremely looked down upon and dangerous in the black community.
Maurice took to social media a few days ago and made this post about his girlfriend.
“Y’all can say whatever about faith I really don’t care if she not passable I don’t care if she wasn’t born a woman she is a woman to me & I love her flaws that’s what makes her faith if you heard her story it’s motivating….. I’m happy you should be happy for me”
He then received an enormous amount of backlash, to the point where he was tracked down, filmed, and bullied in the streets.

According to friends and family, Maurice was already dealing with depression, and the bullying only added on.
According to his girlfriend he overdosed on pills. Maurice was 20 years old.
Friends say the bullying stemmed from Maurice being so open and proud about his girlfriend.
