An interview of Dababy talking about being molested when he was 5 years old recently came to light. Black men are saying the topic is being ignored and being brushed off.
Dababy stopped by Angela Yee’s Lip Service podcast and revealed he had his first sexual experience when he was 4 or 5 years old.
Co-Host Gigi McGuire was the first to start speaking about a sexual experience she had when she was 11 year old, and said she may have lost her virginity.
Dababy compared an experience he had to hers and said he must’ve also lost his virginity when he was around 5.
Here are the clips:
now, Da Baby is not the first black male in the hip hop community to tell of a story similar to this. There are many stories to count. it just has never become a topic many of our black pundits, scholars, bloggers have deemed worthy to speak on. pic.twitter.com/oBXireHeSt— 📚pedagogy in black✊🏾 (@RenyTay) December 22, 2019
He stated that a lot of his aggression comes from experiencing times like that, saying that it changed something in him.
In the interview he stated that the woman “R-kelly’d” him.
The interview was in May and it didn’t reach almost any media outlets.
Someone randomly brought it back up around September and it died off again. And again someone brought it back up in December around the time his fake nudes were leaked.
It raised the conversation at how people reacted much differently to a black man’s nudes being leaked, and would’ve had the complete opposite effect if it was a woman’s nudes leaked.
