Instagram has started testing hiding the like counts from your posts.

According to a piece of code found within the Instagram app, the company seems to be moving toward hiding the like count on Instagram posts.

The change was first noticed by Social media researcher Jane Manchun Wong:

Instagram explained this saying:

We want your followers to focus on what you share, not how many likes you get. During this test, only the person who shared a post will see the total number of likes it gets.

You’ll still be able to see the amount of likes your get, but your followers won’t be able to view the likes.

The company told reporters that they’re exploring ways to reduce the pressure on Instagram users.
