Paramore will no longer be performing “Misery Business”.

Hayley of Paramore gave the announcement at their latest concert, saying it’s the last time they’re performing the song, and they’re distancing the themselves from the song because of the lyrics. Hayley gave the reason as the lyrics being controversial, and she has new beliefs that very much go against the song.

“This is a choice we made because we feel like we should. We feel like it’s time to move away from it for a little while. This is to every bad decision that led us here, this is to all the embarrassing things we might have said, but we owned up to it and we grew.”

The group distanced themselves from the song, one of the reasons being the line “Once a whore you’re nothing more I’m sorry that’ll never change.”

One of the reasons is to show respect to sex workers, women, no matter what their job is shouldn’t be shamed and be looked upon in a bad way, and that women shouldn’t be degraded in a way that implies that sex workers are less.
