A group of men stop a man from raping a woman by beating him up, then they rape her. 

The 21-year-old woman was going to meet an acquientance for a job opportunity when she was gang-raped by five men.

The incident happened around 8.30pm on Wednesday at a park in Sector 63 of Noida, India, very close to a police station, police say.

Police arrested 4 of the men, including the acquientance who invited her for a job opportunity. Two of the men have yet to be found, but were identified as Guddu and Shamu. 

The arrested men were identified by the police as Ravi, a resident of phase 3; Brijkishore, Pitambar, and Umesh.

According to police, the woman, who lives with her family in Noida, went to sector 63 to meet Ravi. Ravi, who works as a peon at an export company had invited her to explore a job opportunity. When she arrived he took her to a nearby park where he tried to rape her.

She screamed for help, and two men approached them and started beating up Ravi, who fled.

After Ravi fled, Guddu and Shamu raped the woman and called Brijkishore, Pitambar and Umesh to the area, and all 5 men took turns raping the woman.

The woman arrived at the police station at 9:30pm and filed a complaint.

Vaibhav Krishna, senior superintendent of police, Gautam Buddh Nagar said:

“The girl was bleeding and needed urgent medical attention when she approached the nearby police post; she was rushed to the hospital immediately. She is out of danger now but she was beaten up badly by the accused. Two accused are still at large and will be arrested soon.”

Nodia police formed two teams to find the two missing men immediately after the complaint, then later formed an extra team.

The police has also offered Rs25,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of the two men. They plan to refer the victim for compensation under the government’s Compensation Scheme for Women Victims/Survivors of Sexual Assault/Other Crimes.
