People brought up that Daniel Kaluuya previously said he was tired of talking about race. He sat down to now explain, and his explanation is going viral.
2 years ago Daniel Kaluuya stated in an interview that he was tired of talking about Race in America.
With his recent performance in Judas and the Black Messiah, people brought it back up and either questioned if someone who said those words was the right person for the part, or if at least it changed his perspective.
Daniel sat down with The Ringer for an interview, and he was questioned about what he said. He was asked if he still viewed himself “as a human who happened to be black” as he once said.
Kaluuya stated that in the interview where he said those words, he also said a bunch of other things that they decided to cut out, and he even told them a story that they didn’t include in the interview.
Here’s part of the interview where explains everything:

"It is not the job of black people & ethnic minorities to educate white people on racism perpetuated by white people. White folks need to educate themselves on #racism."
