In an interview with W Magazine, Cardi B explained why she threw a shoe at Nicki Minaj, and why she decided to throw it at the Party specifically.

Two weeks after the altercation at the Harper Bazaar Party, Cardi told W Magazine in an interview.

“For a while now she’s been taking a lot of shots at me. I spoke to her twice before, and we came to an understanding. But she kept it going.”

She explained that once she saw Nicki Minaj like a tweet criticizing her abilities as a mom, she couldn’t contain herself anymore.

She said

“I was going to make millions off my Bruno Mars tour, and I sacrificed that to stay with my daughter. I love my daughter. I’m a good-ass f–king mom. So for somebody that don’t have a child to like that comment? … So many people want to say that party wasn’t the time or the place, but I’m not going to catch another artist in the grocery store or down the block.”

Cardi B then spoke about the rumors she hears about Offset cheating, and how it makes her insecure, saying she starts to believe them when she hears them. In the past 2 months, there were rumors that Offset was cheating on Cardi B with one of two sisters, Jade and Baddie G, who are dancers who work at a club.

“Every single day there’s rumors about me and my dude,” she told the magazine. “And it almost drives me crazy, because I start to believe them. I don’t have no proof. I don’t have receipts. But I just got to know my man. We practically on the phone 24 hours a day. If I can’t find him, I’m going to find his friend. Somebody going to answer the phone. But I cannot be feeling insecure, to a point that I would drive my dude away, because these people want that to happen.”

She continued on to say that they’ve changed the way they act in music videos and how they film them.

“I can’t rap about certain things, because I don’t want to insult my husband. And when I want to do a music video, I can’t use a male model and do crazy things … He knows better than to do certain things in music videos. I’ll beat his ass.”
