Blackish/Grownish creator goes off on people after he gets called out by fans for casting mostly light skinned people in his shows after he presents new show called “Black Excellence.”
People have often called Kenya Barris out for his lack of brownskinned and dark skinned representation in his shows
His previous show Grownish was called out endlessly for mostly casting people who are light skinned.
In fact, Grownish, which takes place at a Predominantly White Institute previously announced a new season, and used an HBCU style performance to promote the show:

Grownish wanna be a HBCU show so bad. This is the second season in a row they've marketed using HBCU concepts. Stop! Just because most of the main characters are black doesn't make it an HBCU! https://t.co/axnM8xKZj8
