A black woman and a white man in blackface were arrested after robbing two banks.
Police arrested 28-year-old Stephanie Steele and 32-year-old Joshua Coster for aggravated robbery.
According to reports the robberies happened two months apart at the Fidelity Bank branch at 2111 North Bradley Fair, near 21st and Rock.
The first bank robbery happened at about 2:40 p.m. on September 16th.
Employees told police that Steele entered the bank and handed a note to the teller and indicated that she had a gun.
An employee handed the money to Steele who then fled on foot, there were no injuries.
The second robbery happened at the same exact bank. Employees told police that Coaster entered the bank, asked for money and indicated he had a gun. Coaster took the money and also fled on foot.
Police determined coaster was wearing black face paint.
Police, through investigation and a tip found out the two had been working together.
Police located them and made an arrest on October 28th, Monday morning. They’re being held on requested charges of aggravated robbery. The investigation is ongoing and will be presented to the United States Attorney’s Office, police say.
