A black woman has lost her life after breaking up with her boyfriend.
Police report that 25 year old Michelle Rawlings lost her life to her Ex-boyfriend, 24 year old Tyshawn Buckner at her King Points Apartments’ Complex, Henrici County, Va.

After killing Michelle Rawlings, Buckner turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.
Michael Rawlings, Michelle’s father is the head coach at Atlee Highschool, and she was an assistant coach for Atlee High School’s girls’ basketball team.
Michael Rawlings told the news that his daughter was trying her best to remove herself from a very unhealthy relationship.
“My daughter Michelle was a beautiful soul. She was smart, bright, she was driven. She had a great future in front of her.”
Rawlings family says as she was trying to leave the toxic relationship, he wasn’t ready to let her go.
Michael Rawlings continued,
And so I think he just couldn’t go on. He had nowhere to turn to, so his option was the one that he chose, and unfortunately he chose to take my daughter with him.
Her friends and family said that things weren’t good between Michelle and Tyshawn. They say she held multiple jobs and supported herself and him, and he didn’t hold a job and didn’t work at all.
Michelle was a girl’s basketball assistant coach, but also worked as a health counselor. Her loved ones say with her experience she tried to build and help Buckner. But after 3 years of being with him and trying to help him, she decided it was time to let him go as he wasn’t changing.
The shooting happened Monday night at 7:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of Kings Point Court. Police were called to conduct a welfare check and found Rawlings’ body.

She just had a kind heart. If she knew that she could help, she would do what she could to help and, you know, that’s what kind of hurts about all of this.
