A man named Jason Pope, who was recently arrested for sex trafficking has been bragging online for nearly a decade that he targeted black women. According to deputies, a 13-year-old girl (and other women) who was r*ped by Pope told deputies she later found out Pope had aids.
According to ABC15, a well known Florence man who was recently charged with human trafficking may have possible victims that date much further back than what the police are currently investigating.
According to the news network, Jason Roger Pope, 42, also known as “DJ KID,” was charged with three counts of trafficking in persons, three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, promoting the prostitution of a minor, and kidnapping back on August 29.
Police reports state a 13 and 16-year-old girl walked into a hospital and told doctors they had unprotected sex (were r*ped) with Jason Pope, who was 34 years old at the time. The underage girls said Pope gave them Marijuana and money in exchange for him r*ping them.
Pope allegedly assaulted a 14-year-old girl around July 7th, 2019 according to S.M warrants. Authorities learned through social media that between July 1, 2019, and July 30, 2019, Pope solicited a 17-year-old girl identified as “T.C”, and received money and other things of value from Pope.
According to deputies, the 13-year-old girl who was r*ped by Pope told deputies she later found out Pope had aids.
Pope took a second victim to his home on Lakeview Drive and r*ped her as well, and police say at the time, the girl identified his home and his license plate number. The victim says she was sexually assaulted on thanksgiving and was concerned she also contracted AIDs.
A mother reported Pope to the police, saying that Pope was luring her 15 year old daughter with prizes and trying to r*pe her.
The biggest report came from a family member of Pope, who called police and told them that Pope was having sex with minors. She then posted that she reported him on social media. She told deputies that it had been happening for “a long time” but it had “recently gotten worse.”
A neighboring witness who didn’t want to be identified told police he suspected something was wrong a long time ago:
“Seeing who he had next door, these young girls they looked like there were very young, underage maybe, and they stayed over there some and then they’d disappear,”
According to ABC 15, they’ve asked the police for all of the incidents involving Pope about which police wrote reports, no matter how he was involved.
According to Jason Pope’s himself, he deliberately targeted black women and girls specifically:
