A man was arrested, and police say more arrests are possible after a group of men brutally assault a transgender woman.
A man was captured on camera beating a transgender woman before other men joined in to attack her.
The attack went on for a while as people watched, until three women came in and helped her.
At a news conference on Monday, Lt. Vincent Weddington said the incident happened after a car accident, and the attack is being investigated as a possible hate crime.
Before the attack, someone in the video was telling the man to beat the woman, and he would receive $200 dollars if he did, saying that “the money was already in his pocket”.
Police say the woman, Muhlaysia Booker, was hospitalized after sustaining a concussion and a fractured wrist in the beating.

According to the affidavit. the incident after Booker accidentally backed up into a car. The driver of the car she backed into said he was trying to run her S.U.V. off the road and pulled a gun on Booker after she tried to flee.
The video that was first uploaded to Facebook shows Thomas shadow putting on gloves before attacking Booker.
On Sunday night, Thomas called to a cop passing by for help with something. The Cop happened to have seen the video, and recognized Thomas from the video leading to his arrest.
Thomas was jailed and his bail was set at $75,000.
