Bullies pinned a girl down, removed her hijab, and cut off her hair. The mother says the school has done nothing about the long time bullying of her daughter, and the bullying is getting worse.
Yamina Zahir, the mother of 8-year-old Amina in South Philadelphia says her daughter had her hair cut off by bullies.
Yamina says her daughter Amina has been repeatedly bullied at Commodore John Barry Elementary for more than a year.
She said on Wednesday bullies took it to an even higher level when they pinned her down, removed her Hijab and cut off a chunk of her hair on the back of her head.
Amina always reports her bullying to teachers, and says they’ve done nothing to stop the bullies or help her.
Yamina says she also spoke to everyone at the school, the teachers, the counselors, she even called the police to help resolve the matter.
She says no action has been taken:
“Nothing is happening. Nothing is being addressed. Someone is really going to get hurt out of this situation. She could’ve stabbed my daughter. Anything could’ve happened. She cut my daughter’s hair off. Who would do something like that?”
Yamina said she spoke to her teacher, but her teacher did not respond, and just continued about the day.
