A woman from Pennsylvania took her life by jumping off a bridge, and left her 3 children behind in the car.
A woman from McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania jumped to her death in the Monongahela River on Friday evening.
She stopped her car on the Homestead Grays Bridge with three children inside, then jumped off the bridge according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office and Pittsburgh police.
Spokesman for Pittsburgh Public Safety, Chris Togneri said:
“the woman stopped her vehicle in traffic on the bridge and went to the railing. Police discovered three children, between the ages of 1 and 9, still in the vehicle.”
The medical examiner also said witnesses reported seeing her jump off the bridge. The witnesses were the ones who alerted emergency responders at 7:15, River rescue crews recovered her body 2 hours later at about 9:15 p.m. Friday.
Police said three children between the ages of 1 and 9 were found unharmed in the car, but were taken to a local hospital for evaluation and were to be placed in the custody of Allegheny County Children, Youth and Family Services.
According to some of her closest friends on Facebook, Holbrook was suffering from depression.
Holbrook had uploaded photos of her self in all smiles just this month, and previous months as well. She almost made countless posts in the span of last year about how much she loves her children, and how they’re the only ones she has. All of which is just a reminder that depression has no face.
